WHAT DID YOU GET FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY?
Despite the fact that people still cannot believe I’m 30, which is kinda vainly flattering, it’s a sweet relieve to know that the kind of people I would want to invite to my wedding were still there sending me greetings, calling, and even offering me a lift and dinner. The thing is, i realized as i collect more and more digits, presents have become less important. I’ve become a sucker for sweet words and the amount of people actually knowing about my birthday. And determined that, later in life, only these people are invited to my wedding. Whenever that is.
Anyway, for being 30, I got the cutest e-card from the bestest friend in my second home - Australia, I got attention (my long time no see good friend gave me 4 hours of his time for my birthday listening to me raving about this guy, whom I will tell you later about), kisses ( a couple of french once), a red flash disc i cannot use because apparently it’s not compatible with my iBook, a dinner cancelation from my best friend because her new boyfriend was a bit too tired and they decided to go grocery shopping instead, a good night sleep, and an ORANGE bracelet from my parents after all these time they see me dressed up all in RED because I have renounced red as my official color until I change my mind in the future.
Basically, come to think of it, for my 30th birthday, I pretty much got what mortals usually get when they’re still breathing: A Good Slice Of Life. I’m nervous of what my Gramma is going to give me. She gave me a very unlikely top last year. The kind that make you cringe even when you see it worn by other people. Which was really strange because Gramma is usually a better gifter than my parents ever. But then again, I’ve got all I wanted in life, birthdays or no birthdays. I got you, got my sister, my bestfriends, my weird job with the most impossible paycheck, and my parents, and a call from this guy whom i will tell you later about.
